Tree ferns, Mountain creek, northeast Victoria, Australia
Tree ferns like this and I go back a long way. They are so typical of the vegetation and the ecosystem of the forests where I have spent extraordinary amounts of time walking and cycling. They are classic Great Diving Range, along with the towering eucalypts that the ferns form the under-storey to.
As I type this I can almost smell the damp ferns and hear the drip, drip, drip of the forest in the morning after a damp night.
